3" of POW and colder temps finally

Good Morning it's 28 degrees and we got 3" yesterday so not much but some, the best thing is that after almost 10 days of night time temps around 33-34 and warmer days to boot it started getting cooler and supposed to stay colder with possible teens overnight...
The trail has been completely groomed to Trinity and it's a good thing as there were quite a number of trees across the road, that might explain why we haven't seen many sledders up this way last weekend or since...According to the groomers some were passable and really large tree has a cut around the end someone made but it wasn't something just anyone could do...In looking out right now I see that it's snowing lightly , so put on your boots and get that snow dance on...Peace

11" of POW Overnight

Good Morning it's 30 degrees finally and we got another 11" of POW, not what I expected as far as low temps go but better than 34 overnight, hopefully it will get colder and help set up the snow that has been rain soaked and build a base to grow from now...It's still snowing not as heavy as yesterday but still snowing non the less...Get out and enjoy the beautiful whiteness...Peace

Rain finally stopped and 1" of Snow

Good Morning it's 34 degrees and it finally stopped raining after raining since midnight Sunday which has compacted the snow we already had and now we are seeing snow once again and got 1" overnight...The forecast is for more snow and colder temps so put your dancing boots on and bring back the snow...Peace

Nothing New Overnight

Good Morning it's 34 degrees and no new snow overnight but since midnight Sunday we have gotten 3.2" of rain here @ Trinity which has turned the snow into big pillowy looking snow but at the same time it has settled it down now so this is now the base we were looking for now let it snow, so guess we need to do our snow dance today me and the dogs...Be safe out there...Peace

15" of Very Wet Snow

Good Morning it's 34 degrees and we got 15" of nice POW yesterday up until around 6pm and then it started warming up and turned to rain and now it's very wet snow...If you didn't get out and enjoy it yesterday when it was POW then you missed it because now it's gonna be sloppy and wet but still can be ridden you'll just get wet...I did get a report yesterday that there are a few trees down from Chikamin to Trinity most are small and can be gone over but one is very big but there is a trail around it or was yesterday...Be safe out there this needs a chance to set up some ...Trinity out...Peace

Another balmy morning and another 12" of POW

Good Morning it's 34 degrees and overnight we got another 12" of wetter snow yesterday, seems we are sitting right under the low pressure system...This morning it is snowing lightly but don't expect much today, not until tomorrow night possibly...If you haven't already get out and enjoy this beautiful whiteness it does a body good...Peace

Thursday, December 09, 2010

Warmer Temps but 15" of POW Overnight

Good Morning it's 33 degrees and overnight we got another 15" of POW, took a bit of effort through thigh deep snow to clear the dish to get this out...This brings our total to just under 5' so far not bad for a month, not as good as some years but better than others...This doesn't look like it's done yet but with a forecast of 3-6" for yesterday I'd say they missed it some which isn't uncommon...Get out and enjoy the wonderful POW and get some face shots it'll do you some good...Peace

Wednesday, December 08, 2010

11" of POW Overnight

Good Morning it's 30 degrees and overnight we got 11" of fresh POW, the snow is still coming down but lightly now...For anyone that hasn't been out this way lately that is about 3' of new POW in the last week, and according to today the last time they groomed all the way here was Sat night, but will keep you informed...Get out and enjoy the POW it does a body good...Peace

Not Much to Report

Well good morning not much to report snow wise we have received a dusting each day for the last couple of days but not enough to measure...They road to Trinity was groomed on Sat night and there hasn't been much traffic out this way since, we are still holding at about 3' of snow here...If you get the chance get out and enjoy the snow it does a body good...Peace

12" More POWder

Good Morning it's 25 degrees and this morning we had another 12" of fresh POW  giving us almost 4' total now...Haven't been out to check to see if they have groomed out here yet, usually I'm the last place that they groom to, just depending on the snow down lower...Peace

11" Overnight POW

Good Morning it's 22 degrees and overnight we got 11" of new POW bringing our total to just under 3' here @ Trinity...Depending on how much Fish Lk gets they might start grooming tomorrow 12/1 which is the first day of this being closed off for a Sno-park now...This is nice fluffy POW so get out and enjoy it...it does a body good and definitely makes your spirit happier...Peace

Saturday, November 27, 2010

7" Overnight POW

Good Morning it's about 18 degrees and I see blue skies over the mountains Webcam and overnight we got another 7" of POW  bringing our total to about 28" here...We are way behind what we had at this time last year as far as snow goes but the snow goes out further than it was last year at this time and even snow at Lk Wenatchee already they just might start grooming on Dec 1 about 2 weeks ahead of last year...Get out and enjoy the new snow and sunshine today it does a body good...Peace

Friday, November 26, 2010

11" of Fresh POWder

Good Morning it's 14 degrees and we have gotten a little over 11" of fresh Pow since yesterday and we needed it to help insulate the houses and the dam...After a couple of days of bitter cold temps and freezing up at the dam it started warming up and then snow came back with a vengeance, we've almost doubled the amount of snow overnight... Get out and enjoy it today and this weekend and leave the shopping to those who don't know better...it'll do you some good...Peace

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

4" Since Friday afternoon

Good Morning it's 17 degrees still gray skies so far and since Friday night we have gotten a whopping 4-5" of snow here, giving us a total of about 15" so far...Even though it's snowed most of the day yesterday there just isn't much accumulation...temps are supposed to really drop tonight and by Tues night supposed to be -17 with wind chill of -33...Get out and enjoy it while you can...Peace

Friday, November 19, 2010

2" More Snow

Good Morning it's 28 degrees so didn't get as cold as forecast but we did get another 2" of snow overnight, pretty dry sticky kind of snow...Not quite sure what the road conditions are yet because of not taking my truck out yet but based on the number of trees down going up to the dam yesterday I would think there are several across the road...It's overcast and snowing at the present but lightly...Maybe this is now what we have been waiting for, get those sleds and skis ready to get out and have some fun...Peace

Thursday, November 18, 2010

8" of Fresh POW...

Good Morning it's 29 degrees and we got 8" since yesterday morning @ 7am, very nice and POWdery...Everything is now dressed in it's winter whiteness and looks beautiful...Get out and enjoy it if you can...Peace

Winter Returns to Trinity

Yesterday morning we woke up to a sunny morning but it wasn't long before the clouds moved in and we could see snow coming in over Massie Ridge and Buck Mountain and around 11am is started snowing here and by dark we had about 4" of fresh snow. This morning we got up to a total of 4.5" of snow and 24 degrees with clear skies.  It's a beautiful morning to get out ad take a walk in the first real snow of the yr meaning it lasted overnight but the temps today could change that...Get out and enjoy this wonderful time of year it's beautiful and white...Peace

Friday, April 09, 2010

5" More Snow and back over 7' on gauge

Well good morning it's 27 degrees the winds are blowing and we have 7' on the gauge once again. We've gotten more snow in April than all of Mar. This will help the snow pack to hang around a little longer and that we definitely need.  Get out and enjoy this beautiful snow but be careful the winds can blind you with the snow. Another beautiful day in Paradise...Peace

Thursday, April 08, 2010

4.5" of New POW Overnight

Good Morning it's 28 degrees and very windy with blowing snow at times very difficult to see anything  in almost white out conditions.  Winds blowing up to 25 mph adding to the difficulty of seeing outside. A good day for staying inside I believe, getting things done there today.  We have already gotten more snow in the last 10 days than almost all of Mar and Feb, so don't put those snowmobiles away just yet Old Man Winter is hanging on a little longer and I have to admit I love it...Get out and enjoy it while it's still snowing.  Peace

Monday, April 05, 2010

4" Overnight This is April Right?

Well after not getting much snow in Feb or Mar  it seems April wants to start out with a Dump or 2 and this morning we had another 4" of fluffy white stuff called Snow and we love it and still need it here but it sure messed other things up. Hasn't effected our flowers here since they are all still buried and I can put this snow to use actually.  If you had already put those sleds away you might just want to pull them back out for some great late season riding. Get out and enjoy some late season beauty, it does a body and spirit good.  Peace

Saturday, April 03, 2010

14" of New POW

Well it's been a while but yesterday we were given a blessing of 14" of new POW it's soft and fluffy so those of you still wanting to ride today might just be the best chance of it in a while. The road was pretty clear to the dumpsters as of Wed but not sure what about now but would think it probably still is open that far, it won't be groomed so you will be able to float and no need for ice scratchers today.  Get out and enjoy this beautiful winterland experience it will do a body and spitir good.  Peace

Friday, March 12, 2010

Whoo Hoo 12" of Beautiful Snow

Good Morning it's 32 degrees and we had another 12" of snow this morning giving us 15" since Wed night and only 2" less than all of Feb.  I'm grateful to see this happening and if you've put away those skis and given up riding you snowmobile much more forget it , break them out and go enjoy this wonderful POW especially at higher elevations while it is a little wetter here @ 2800'.  Not sure how long this will be here but the dogs and I will enjoy every minute of it and you should too, it's not really Spring just yet and to think the forecasters have been right  2 out of the last 7 days, might be a record. Get out and enjoy this wonderful whiteness.  Peace

Got Snow, Still Hanging On

Well for all of you that have been getting excited at the forecast of snow and believed it you have probably been just as disappointed as I have been, watching blue skies and warm temps.  Well this morning woke up to 3" of new snow and 28 degrees but not expecting it to stick around long. At least it turned things white sorta anyway and more in forecast so lets see if they have finally figured it out, as long as it snows I'll keep reporting it to ya'll.  Peace

Saturday, February 27, 2010

4" of Fluffy Whiteness

Good Morning it's 32 degrees and in last 24 hours we received another 4" of snow which put us back over 7' on the gauge so at least it is holding well.  This is a combination of dry and wet snow  but the warm temps make it soft but you won't punch through so still good for going anywhere. Get out and enjoy it up higher has even better snow everything is white once again.  Peace

Friday, February 26, 2010

1.5" New snow

Good Morning it's 32 degrees and snowing currently 1.5" of new but have to say the snow is wetter than the last 2 days which doesn't excite me as much but hey it's snow and that is what counts for sure. Everything is socked in here today not many photo ops today but get out and enjoy it anyway.

Thursday, February 25, 2010

1" More Snow

Good Morning it's 31 degrees and we received 1" more snow overnight but can already see blue skies peeking through, gonna be another beautiful day.  The snow on the ground has been so cold that even when it got up to almost 40 yesterday the snow stayed powdery instead of turning wet which make is nice, the road out was groomed Wed morning early enough to allow new snow on top making for a nice ride according to some visitors we had.  Get out and enjoy it while you can it does a body good.

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

2" of New Snow Overnight

Good Morning it's 30 degrees and today we have 2" of new snow on the ground, baby fine POW and wonderful to see so now we will have to see what happens today with the temps will they hold the snow or will it be gone as fast as it came.  Stay tuned and get out and enjoy it while it's here it really does a body good.  Peace

Started as Rain but Snowing Now

Good Morning it is 32 degrees and at 5am it was raining and very light snow on trees but as morning got closer then the rain started changing to snow which is always nice to have but the big question is how long will it last.  No matter we will go enjoy it as long as it's here and with still 7' on the ground it should stick around for a while.  Have a wonderful week and keep doing those snow dances but do extra cold weather steps.  Peace

Friday, February 12, 2010

3" Overnight

Good Morning it's 32 degrees and we got 3" overnight of snow and even though it's been a while since we've gotten snow this helped and this morning the fog pushed in but Bluebird skies above gonna be a beautiful day in Paradise get out and enjoy it while it's here you just can't judge what is here based on what you see down below near the lakes. Wanting more of course but this is better than none, don't put those dancing boots away just yet, now it needs to cool down a bit more.  Peace

Thursday, February 11, 2010

1.5" and Still Snowing

Good Morning it's 30 degrees and we got 1.5" overnight, not alot but at least it is snow. The trail out here hadn't been groomed lately but except for a few bumps along the way it's not bad for traveling. Most of the larger fields from Atkinson Flats south have been shredded and few sledders have made it beyond there it seems they turn around and head back. If you really like to ride and not just trails you have to keep going north that is where the real snow is, get out and enjoy it.

Friday, February 05, 2010

1" Overnight

Good Morning it's 32 degrees and we got 1" overnight but more than the last 2 morning of just dustings not even enough to measure.  The temps have been staying consistently warm, not much below freezing but at least it's snowing and not rain.  Waiting for the temps to drop some would be nice.  Get out and enjoy it while we can.

Tuesday, February 02, 2010

A Little Snow

Good Morning it's 30 degrees and overnight we received a whopping .75" of snow, just enough to dust things up a little, but we could really use more.  At least it is staying colder than it has been lately which could be a good sign for Feb, we'll see since this is just the 2nd.  Get out and enjoy it the trail is still in pretty good shape after the weekend, might be bumpy in some places.  Peace

Saturday, January 30, 2010

5" Overnight

Good Morning it's a balmy 31 degrees and we received 5" of snow overnight. The groomer arrived this morning about 2:30 and has groomed all the way into Trinity making a few passes around the area that had been prepped for the dogs for the Cascade Quest coming here today after noon.  For those dog teams it's wet snow and never got cold enough to set it up.  Run hard, run swift, and enjoy the snow, Good Luck to all of the teams today and rest of the weekend.

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Just a Dusting Overnight

Good Morning it is 28 degrees and just a light dusting of snow.  Not mush else to report this morning it did warm up yesterday during the day but this morning is more overcast but the mountains are peeking out of the clouds.  Get out and enjoy it .

Monday, January 25, 2010

11" of Fresh Baby Fine POW

Good Morning it's 29 degrees and we received 11" of baby fine POW here since yesterday just a little more than the 2-5" forecast but I'm not complaining at all, I just need to get a job as forecaster getting paid good money to guess and be wrong 90% of the time.  The trail here is in great shape it was groomed Fri night and was like a hwy but hard on Sat so this will give it a nice cushion for anyone coming out this direction. The temps have been going into the high 20's at night which is what we have needed to set this snow up and pull some of the moisture out making it even better.  This is what we have been looking for so get out and enjoy it, it'll do a body good.  Peace

Thursday, January 21, 2010

.5" of snow not much but still snow

It seems the warmer weather has been hanging around way too long for my liking and even though the snow is wet we still received .5" overnight, the trail is in good shape but hasn't been groomed as of yesterday but I haven't checked this morning yet.  I just would like to see it about 10 degrees cooler would be nice.  Get out and enjoy it while you can.  Peace

Monday, January 18, 2010

Very Wet Snow 3"

Good Morning it's 32 degrees and has been since yesterday afternoon. We received another 3" of very wet snow, it packs nicely but it is wet none the less. That gives us a total of 82" for the month of Jan.  Fortunately we didn't get any rain with it.  Get out and enjoy it if you can, if does a body good.

Sunday, January 17, 2010

4" Overnight

Good Morning it's 31 degrees and overnight another 4" of POW fell here at Trinity. After bluebird skies yesterday morning the storm started moving in around 3pm on the mountains and seemed to be moving fast the fog showed up here and started snowing around dark.  The snow is still in good shape, higher elevation snow is much drier and fluffier and deeper for sure.  If you haven't gone out to play in it you are missing out, it does a body and spirit good.  Peace

Saturday, January 16, 2010

6" yesterday, for almost 18" since Thur am.

Good Morning it's 23 degrees and yesterday it snowed here all day until just before dark then nothing overnight but we still got 6" and no rain so nothing to sneeze at. The trail here is in good shape the colder temps helped set up the snow leaving a crust but also pulling out moisture which will make more POW.  From the sno-park  to around the Little Giant curve only amounts of an inch to about 6" but from there it starts getting deeper to Trinity. This is what you have been looking for so get out and enjoy it while it's here and take advantage of it, it'll do you some good.  Peace

Friday, January 15, 2010

8" of New Snow Overnight

Good Morning it's 32 degrees and overnight we received 8" of new snow, it would be nice if it would cool down a bit though to allow the snow to firm up a little. The snow is still soft and you should use use some caution though because one place can be firm and next step you can punch through to your thighs. It's gonna be a great day no matter what, get out and enjoy it.  Peace

Thursday, January 14, 2010

3" of Snow Overnight

Good Morning it's a warm 32 degrees this morning but we did receive 3" of new snow and that is better than rain, so no complaints.  Not much else to report though the road here was groomed earlier this week and as of yesterday only me and the dogs have been out on it and we were walking. We'll keep doing the snow dance but so should you.  Get out and enjoy it no matter what happens it will do you some good.  Peace

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Well it's Snowing

Well it's 32 degrees and currently it is snowing not raining.  We still have a base of 7' here with the settling and compaction due to  the rain though. The road to Trinity was groomed as of Monday night or Tues night not sure exactly.  What we really need now is for the temps to drop back into the 20's to make it good again.  Nothing else to report at this time.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

4" of Very Wet Snow

We were doing so good and then yesterday arrived and with it snow all day but then it got warmer overnight and that brought the rains, not enough to show on the weather station yet got to get through the snow but rain no less. Fortunately it's stopped for now and when it like this it is better to stay off of it if possible so it can settle the snow we have and just pray for colder temps, this shouldn't effect the weekend of fun as long as the forecast snow gets here and the temps go down, will keep you informed as to what happens.  Have a wonderful day.  Peace

Monday, January 11, 2010

4" overnight

After a warmer weekend without much new snow we didn't get the rain or wintry mix forecast which was nice, even though the temps did help pack things down again and this morning we have 4" of fluffy whiteness and it's still coming down. We have over 7' of base here this year which is really wonderful to have.  I'm not convinced the forecasters know what they are doing supposed to be a much drier winter and I just haven't seen it that way at all but then again I'm not from the dark side.  If you are working have a good day if not get out and enjoy a great playtime in this wonderful snow.
We have now had a total of 16' of snow since first snow in Nov and that includes the 44" so far this month & 2010.   Peace

Saturday, January 09, 2010

Whoo Hoo 6" of New Snow

Good Morning it's 23 degrees and overnight we received 6" of POW.  This is what you have been looking for and it arrived so get out there and enjoy the wonderful whiteness.  The run out here should be smooth and fast or anywhere out this direction. For Jan that gives us a total snow fall of 39" so far and over 7' of base here, something we just normally don't have at this time of year. get out and enjoy the snow, it's a beautiful day.

Friday, January 08, 2010

1.5" of new snow overnight

Good Morning it's 21 degrees here at Trinity and we had about 1.5" of new snow overnight and it is snowing lightly right now.  The colder temps have not frozen the snow but have made it nice POW to ride and play in.  The next couple of days could be a bit iffy but other than that should be fine here and for anyone wanting to get out and enjoy it. The trail to Trinity was groomed earlier this week and fast according to those that have been out here this week.  Don't let good POW go to waste get out and enjoy it with family and friends.

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

6" of Wetter Snow overnight

Good Morning we have a balmy 31.5 today and overnight we got another 6" of wetter snow with some flakes this morning the size of silver dollars but we haven't had any rain so far.  Now we need colder temps to draw out the moisture and again we will have wonderful POW.  FYI the road to Trinity was groomed early Monday morning.  Might want to hold off snowmobiling like this even though the snow is good just causes much bigger ruts and if forecast are correct the temps will be dropping tonight and those ruts would freeze making it even more difficult to maneuver over.  Peace

Monday, January 04, 2010

3.5" of Snow overnight

This morning we had 3.5" of new snow to report here. As of yesterday they still haven't groomed out this far again but that just made for nice riding for snowmobiles with a slight crust and 6" of POW underneath. We now have over received 173.5" of snow since it started falling in Oct and there is 5-6' of base @ 2800' and it just gets better from here.  Get out and enjoy it it does a body good and the trail here is fine.

Saturday, January 02, 2010

Warmer night & 11" more snow

Well the new year is starting off with plenty of snow.  Yesterday the snow was fairly dry and you couldn't make snowballs without using a ice chest to get a snowball 4", it was very fluffy.  The temps continued to climb throughout the day and this morning we are at 30 degrees we had a little over 11" of new snow, even though this is much wetter snow compacting slowly and we have 6.75' on our gauge.  As of this writing we are getting frozen rain/sleet snow mix.  The trees are heavy with  new snow and look beautiful and with all the new snow there still haven't been but maybe 10 sledders out this far where the real snow is.  Get out and enjoy the white wonderland  we call home, it'll do you  some good and a great way to start 2010.  Peace

Friday, January 01, 2010

Happy 2010 Everyone we got Snow

Happy first day of 2010  we got over 11" of new snow yesterday, very dry sticky POW here in Paradise.  We had our first sled dog team arrive around 1pm yesterday so had someone to share chili and homemade bread for supper.  The team had a hard time settling down even after a 23 mile run to Trinity they were just getting warmed up apparently.  that puts us just a little under 6' now but it did stay warmer last night actually getting warmer as the night progressed.  We even were able to see the beautiful full blue moon through the clouds.  This is what everyone says they have been wanting well it is here.
Get out and enjoy it to start 2010 off with a bang, some face shots and POW everywhere, you might have to wait to throw a snowball though as it is a dry sticky POW.
May you all be blessed with happiness, peace, love and prosperity, no looking back now but enjoy the moment and each day that comes.  Namaste & Peace from Paradise.

New Year's Eve 2009

Once again the forecast wasn't even close we got a whopping .5" and that is being generous.  They are calling for 3-5 " on one forecast and 4-8" on the other but as i mentioned before they have been wrong 90-95% of the time this winter.  I've got to get me one of the forecasting jobs, I at least can guess better than they have been with all of their fancy equipment for this area anyway.  This has been a rough year for many and hopefully 2010 will be better for everyone, with foolish laws changed and accountability from our leaders.  Happy New Year from the Trinity5 pack and many blessing for everyone in 2010.  Peace

Visions of Snowflakes Falling

With the New Year approaching I did some figuring on our present snow fall situation.  It was forecast to be a drier winter and it seems to have been so far.
Since the first snowfall in Oct we have received @ Trinity 148.25" or 12.35' of snow up to this morning, yet we have just less than 5' on our gauge.  Problem is that we received rain during that time also  which compacted and settled the snow.  The temps have been colder earlier than last year which has pulled moisture out of the snow especially for what we have now and even though it is firm there is 1-12" of POW on top of a base of almost 4'.  Some places have a slight crust that if broken you can be up to your thigh in POW  baby fine POW.  Last year at this time we already had 6-7' of POW with no bottom, lots of stuck sleds who just didn't use enough power for the conditions.
Hopefully the new year will bring with it much more snow than we have seen so far but then again I can't complain too much we have accumulated 12+ ' so far.
Peace, Blessings for the New Year  from the Trinity5 Pack

Well we got snow little over 1"

Well we finally woke up to some new snow but not what everyone was hoping for just a hair over 1" of fresh baby fine POW arrived overnight.  I am happy to say that it is still snowing at this time very small flakes and little accumulation.  Finally saw some other sledders yesterday saying there are areas of the trail out here that are icy but out here it's just POW, so get out there and work off some of the Christmas food you ate playing in the snow, it does a body good.  Peace

Bluebird Morning 6 degrees and No Snow

Blue skies and cold temps are helping out the snow around here, yet very few people have been this far all week maybe 3-5 sleds this far.  Seems everyone stays close to the snowpark and stay on the trails instead of getting to where the real snow is and having fun, too bad you don't know what you are missing.  Now get out and ride and play in the real snow not what you find in the first 5-7 miles but actually from Fish LK and most of all get off of the trails, snow is firm but POW at the same time, there is a base and so far just me and the dogs have really enjoyed it out here.  Peace

Christmas Morning 13 degrees and White Here

Merry Christmas to everyone, we are having a white Christmas here but no new snow this week, nice and crispy with the inversion keeping the clouds low but the mountains are peeking out.  These temps have made the snow really good around here anyway, get out and enjoy it and play hard so the food won't stay where not wanted, will report the next flakes we see.  Peace Everyone

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

0" of snow overnight

Well we finally got below 32 for the first night in about 4-5 days we are at 28 this morning and it is setting the snow up , not as sloppy as it was.  Nothing else really to report today, the snow is setting up nicely making it easier to get around for sure get out and enjoy it while you can, even the mushers should have good rides if they get away from the snow park and go further north, trail here is in great shape, not torn up like it probably is near the lake.  Peace

Monday, December 21, 2009

4" of New Snow Overnight

Good Morning we are still holding steady at 32 degrees and after snow/rain all day yesterday it finally became snow later in the afternoon with silver dollar size flakes at times some you could barely see.  Got up this morning to 4" of new fluffier but wet snow this morning and putting us back over 5' on the gauge.  I'd like the snow level to stay around 2000' instead of the 5000' it has been the last couple of days and bringing rain instead of snow.  Get out and enjoy it while we have it to enjoy it will do your body some good and definitely do your spirit some good.  Peace

No Snow

Good Morning it's a balmy 32 here this morning and just a light dusting of wet snow on things here.  I've got to get me a job as forecaster I'm much beter than these jokers that are wrong for this area 90% of the time.  I should have about 10' if you believe them yet only 5' on gauge, think I'll stick to watching the sky and animals instead much more accurate.  Overnight we did get .08" precipitation and for the month only .58" yet we got 33+" of POW this week, now that is some very dry snow.  I'll keep you updated and get out and enjoy the snow, might want to make sure you have your Gore-tex on though.  Peace

No Snow but .04" Precip overnight

Well after getting snow earlier this week the temps have gone up, overnight here was 32 a big change from last week with -3.  The POW we got is now a little wetter  but also compacting some making it somewhat firmer, on the gauge now we show 5'.  Get out and enjoy the snow while it is here we just aren't looking at getting much this next few days and warmer temps until Monday night when we should be in the lower 20's.  The road to Trinity was groomed on Wed night but not up to Phelps CK TH, you get  to make your won way up there and there is plenty of snow.  Peace

Just a Dusting of Wetter Snow

Good Morning it's 32 degrees and overnight we only got a dusting of wetter snow but nothing to dance about.  The snow was very dry and fluffy couldn't make a snowball type of POW great for snowmobiling or getting those face shots of POW while skiing.  The road to Trinity was groomed night before last and we ended up with 37 degrees yesterday and a warmest overnight  we have had in over a month which should help settle this snow some making it even better.  I'll keep you updated on what we get and the conditions as I know them.  Get out and enjoy this beautiful soft whiteness it'll make you feel young again.  Peace

13" of New POWder

Good Morning it's 27 degrees and we received 13" of new POWder so since Monday night we have received 33.25" of new Powder here at Trinity and we are showing approximately 5.5' once again which is actually better than we did in Nov by 6".  There is a good base down now and the temps have been warmer the last couple nights.  This is what everyone was waiting for so quit waiting and get out and enjoy this beautiful snow, it'll do your body good.  Not sure about the grooming at this point I know that as of yesterday afternoon nothing here had been groomed except what we have been dragging around here just to make it easier to get around.  Peace

8.5 " Overnight

WWell after no snow for almost 2 weeks we finally have started getting some again, got up to 8.5" of new POW since noon yesterday when it started again and the 10" yesterday we've got a new 18.5" of new fluffy white snow on the ground, got to make first tracks yesterday coming home and the snow sure made the trip home much nicer than the ride out where I was having to search for any snow to ride on instead of the ice everywhere.  Get out and enjoy this snow, on the gauge we are showing  about 4.75' today so get out and have some fun it'll do you some good.  Peace

Snow finally arrived here

Sorry for being late getting this out but we got about 10" overnight and there is now snow all the way to the snow  park unlike the icy conditions I went out on yesterday.  Was nice making first tracks coming home earlier today and made the ride much easier on my body, lots of face shots & leg shots on the ride home, if this keeps up thee will have enough to finally start grooming just don't know when at this point.  Get out and enjoy this wonderful POW it does a body good.  Peace

1.75" of new snow

Well after almost 2 weeks without snow we finally got a little bit overnight woke up to 1.75" of new Pow, more is supposed to be on the way though.  STill not enough for them to start grooming I don't think that is unless something big happened near Fish LK last night anyway.  I'll keep you posted with whatever we get snow wise or any other conditions you might be interested in.  Get out and enjoy the snow and keep doing the snow dance, fire up those sleds and get ready to ride.  Peace

Still looking for snow

This is the first morning above 0 we have had all week which was nice but still no snow since the Tues before Thanksgiving, that is supposed to change this week though and I will keep you updated. We still have 3.5' of snow here and with these extreme cold temps the snow is becoming POW once again just have to break up the top layer of frozen snow, in some places you can punch through up to 1' so that is a good thing just have to be careful.  Will update once we have any new snow to report, the road i s still open but not groomed at this point due to lack of snow down at the Fish Lake end of the road.  Get out and enjoy what we do have though and make it a great day. Peace

Finally Something to report

This morning it is 22 degrees and supposed to get colder as the day progresses, we do have .5" of snow this morning after nothing since the Tues before Thanksgiving, but well below the forecast of 1-3".  The snow on the trail is very hard until you get to Basalt TH, out to Chikamin, not what high powered sleds need for sure unless it is water cooled of course.  Here we still have between 3.5-4' of very hard frozen snow, while at Chikamin is between 12-18" and not sure what is further south at this time.  You don't need snowshoes to go anywhere at this time, while up at the dam about 900' above us still has lots of nice POW with a crust but you can definitely punch through occasionally.  Get out and enjoy it before it gets really cold this evening and first part of the week, that is if the forecast are correct which so far this season are right 3 days out of the last 1.5 months, I need that job getting paid for being wrong 15:1.  Peace

Still no new snow to speak of

Well we haven't had any new snowfall since we got up Tues morning.  The snow we have has settled down some and with the colder temps it has set up very nicely.  There were a couple of sledders that turned around just before our bridge either Thur evening or Friday morning early but we haven't seen anyone up this far all weekend.  We did have a little rain mixed with snow & sleet yesterday but not really enough to make any difference and definitely not enough to measure.  The gauge still has just under 4' showing on it but some places have settled more than others.  The snow was so soft you couldn't make new tracks without sinking until yesterday when we found that we could walk almost anywhere without punching through as often, causing the dogs to love it, not just restricted to the trails we have made the past couple of weeks. Get out and enjoy the snow it beautiful out today.  Peace

1" of wetter snow overnight

Good Morning it's 32 degrees here and overnight we received just 1" of wetter snow which does help with settling the snow down causing it to firm up some. Yesterday we had mostly clear skies with some clouds around the mountains but each time the sun hit the peaks caused a beautiful bright spot in the sky.  Get out and enjoy the snow it does a body good.  Peace

No real Snow overnight

Good Morning it's 26 degrees and we didn't get any snow accumulation from yesterday or overnight.  These colder temps will help to set up the snow that we already have here making it a little easier too get around some.  We still have waist deep trails we are using around here to get around between houses and the powerhouse.  These colder temps will also pull out some of the moisture out of the snow making for better POW days ahead.  The skies are somewhat clear and some of the mountains are visible which is nice to see since they have been buried in the clouds the last few days.  No snowmobilers or anyone has made it up this far yet so not sure what the road is like after Bob's failed attempt on Friday on his ATV.  Get out and enjoy the snow even if Fish lake doesn't have much there is plenty out this way.  Still right at 5' on the gauge with some settling of snow after this past weekend.  Peace

Sunday, November 22, 2009

11" more POW overnight

Good Morning it is 30 degrees and overnight we got another 11" of POW and even though it is compacting some we still are at 5' on the gauge with over 66" since Monday alone and this is still November and Thanksgiving is still 4 days away and if this continues on could be like 2 years ago with 14'.  It still isn't warming enough for it to settle much but there is plenty of POW to get out and enjoy either on skis or snowmobiles.  For all you mushers it's time to break out the sleds and put those ATV's away for the season.  What will we have by Thur any guesses.  Peace

4" of Wetter snow

Good Morning it is Fri  32 degrees here and we received another 4" of wetter snow overnight.  It seems to pack a little better not as sloppy as before but still lots of deep snow between here and Fish Lake and so far we haven' seen or heard of anyone making it out this far yet.  The snow level raised overnight instead of getting colder and setting the snow up nicely it stayed warmer and wetter clearing the dish for me overnight after shutting it down earlier in the day.  Get out and enjoy this winter wonderland and give me a shout if you get this far.  Peace

10" more POW overnight

Good Morning everyone it's almost 31 degrees and we received another 10" of POW overnight.  That is now over 5' on the gauge but the snow is deep and soft,  not recommended for anyone without a good sled that knows how to ride Deep Pow or you will spend more time digging out than riding.  Get out and be safe but enjoy this beautiful winter wonderland.  Peace

15" of POW

Well Good Morning  it's 31 degrees and we got another 15" of POW overnight, it hasn't set up yet and we have just under 5' of snow so the base is now 3.5' below the top of the snow not very helpful yet.  The forecast was right for once which is unusual for this area.  It's white and soft and just waiting for someone to play in it, get out and enjoy it, I plan on it.  Peace

6" f POW overnight

Good Morning we have 6" of POW n top of some very wet snow after yesterdays rains and snow overnight.  Had thought it might set up overnight but never got below 31 degrees. The road here could be a bit sloppy yet so lets just see what happens. There is over 3.5' of snow on the gauge here.  Get out and enjoy the snow

15" of Wet Snow

Greetings it's 32 degrees and this morning we had 15" of wet snow after it warmed overnight causing rain. This is actually nice in a way because it will help to form a base which we normally don't have this early in the season and on the gauge we have a little over 3.25' total. This is good and bad because the heavier snow can also cause slides in areas which don't help the situation much. No Big winds here last night as forecast but could come today. It's currently a mix of rain and snow along with a little sleet thrown in, however this is a good beginning for Snow season here and so far the predictions of a Dry winter don't seem to be holding very true. Get out and enjoy some wetter snow today.

We've got Snow here...

Good Morning we have 29 degrees and overnight we got 10" of new wetter snow. That gives a little over 3' now with a 15" base. Start those sleds, tune them up there is Pow to ride and play in here. What's in your yard. Here's a look at mine http://trin-con.home.comcast.net/~trin-con/webcam.htm

1' of POW in the last 48 hours

Good morning it's 29 degrees and snowing, overnight we received another 4" of POW making it 1' of POW since Sat morning. That on top of the 15" base we already had is starting to look like winter is here. There is plenty of snow from the first horse camp to Trinity for snowmobiling and as of yesterday you could drive in that far before launching sleds and riding in here if so inclined. It's still half a month before they would even consider to start grooming and that is only depending on how much snow arrives out near Fish Lake snopark in that time. Enjoy the snow it does a body good. Peace

Bluebird Morning

Good Morning it's 21 degrees, blue skies and another 8" of POW, baby fine POW on top of about 12-15" of base here so we now have 2' on the gauge. Get out and enjoy this beautiful weather it'll do you lots of good.

New Pow Overnight

Good morning it's 26 degrees and we have 1" of new POWder, nice to see it after a couple of days without any, but I loved the bluebird skies we had. This is very fine Pow and there is about 1' base which is nice at this time of year, normally it comes much later. The road had a good base also but we had to rescue a stuck van and used a blower for the last 3-4 miles towards Trinity so owe need this new snow to cover the road again. I'll keep you informed. Peace

3" of new snow

Good morning it's 32 degrees with blue skies right now. We received another 3" of snow last night but it is compacting and only 15" deep where it is not disturbed. Nice to see the snow with Bluebird skies. There is 5-6" of snow from Atkinson Flats to 15-16" @ Trinity so get those sleds ready...Peace

Maybe this is it

Good Morning it's Nov 7 and it's 32 degrees here. We started getting snow Thur night and woke up to 6" of snow yesterday morning. The temp never got higher than 32 and it snowed all day but no real accumulation. This morning we had another 8" of snow for a total of 14" so far. We thought it was supposed to rain and get warmer this weekend but the way it is looking now this might just stay around. As long as it continues to snow I'll be reporting snow levels daily unless for some reason the plant drops.

It might be Apri,l but thinks it's still Winter

Good Morning it's April 2 and we have gotten 22" since the 31st. We've already gotten more snow in Apr than all of Feb this year. Woke up day before yesterday with 11" of new POW and then this morning we had another 11" and it's still snowing. When I came home last Thur the trail was sorta torn up until Chikamin due to sledder's tearing it up while it was wet. From there to Basalt there had only been a couple of sleds on it and it was in better shape but from Basalt out to Trinity was very smooth and fast and we made first tracks. Didn't see any sledders here all weekend so the road was still in great shape now it just has another 22"+ on top of it to give a better cushion. This latest snow is a combination of wet and very dry snow. Normally getting this much snow so fast isn't such a good thing since it doesn't have time to bond to older snow increasing the risk of slides in the area. It's beautiful out there get out and enjoy it just be smart in where you play...Peace

Season drawing to a close, Sorta...

We went into town for 3 days on Monday and hoped to get some of the snow Steven's Pass got during that time, maybe 2-3" only though. Coming in yesterday the lower portion of the road here was rough due to lots of traffic while snow as very weeet, not bad but used none the less, from Basalt on to Trinity it was smooth as glass with just about 1" of new snow on top. We made the first tracks on it and it was very nice to come home like that. The grooming for the year is over I've been told, so now snow is melting at Fish Lk sno-park but not bad yet, it is good from there just rough to Chikamin Flats stay out of others tracks and it is nice though. Get out and enjoy it while you can it's getting warmer during the day but overall the snow is still on great shape. Get on those sleds and ride or pack your skis and come enjoy the beautiful virgin ski runs we know of, it'll so your body & spirit good. Peace

Bluebird Day

It's a Bluebird morning and 23 degrees, no new snow but the snow is frozen hard from the latest rain, it can be broken through so be careful. The road was groomed for the last time of the season all the way but this morning you will need ice scratcher's on sleds. Get out and enjoy the sunshine, mountains and snow it'll do you good. Peace

Very Wet Snow

Good Morning it's 43 degrees the sun is shining after an overnight low of 33. The new snow that we got is now very wet due to almost 1" of precip yesterday. The snow is compacting but until it settles it's easy to posthole while walking in the deep snow with or without snowshoes but the snowshoes do help. There is still plenty of snow to play in and the snow in the trees is gone so no worries about snowbombs hitting you while you are out enjoying the snow. This is a good time to get that sled out and go play just be prepared to get a little wet, and enjoy the beautiful mountains, it'll do you good. Peace

Thursday, March 19, 2009

Now we get rain

After receiving another 1.5" of snow yesterday before it started to warm up the overnight temp only got down to 31 and formed a crust on the snow that had fallen, it has now started to rain lightly but enough to soften up the snow. This will help to compact it down and already had compacted to below 7' as of yesterday. The road out here was groomed on Monday night and there was 3-4" of new snow on top of the grooming and only a couple of sleds had been on it as of yesterday. Today it is already 32.5 and climbing so we are back into the thaw/freeze cycle possibly, we'll have to see. The snow in the trees is melting quickly but overall we are in pretty good shape we still have more twice the snow we had just last Friday.
Except for the rain causing sloppy conditions things are good , just have to see how much settling the snow does with the next couple of days since rain is forecast through Friday. The good thing is the water content of the snow even before this latest snowstorm was at 35-37% density which is good for spring runoff. Get out and make the best of it just take something to dry off with. Peace

I can't believe it snowing!!!

Good Morning it's 27.8 degrees and we have gotten another 13" of snow since yesterday giving us a total of 3.6' of new snow since Sat. According to the calender it's St. Patty's day but there is only white no green here. After not getting any significant snow for over 6 weeks we have doubled our snow total in 72 hours, winter is hangin' around which is what we have needed to not have such a bad fire season this summer. Getting this much snow so fast isn't necessarily good for avi conditions, slides will happen since it is falling faster than it can bond. Time to break out the big sleds that haven't had this kind of snow since early Jan to play in. The groomers did groom all the way out here in early am hours still has another 3-4" on top since then. Waist deep POW where it hasn't been groomed or compacted from lots of use. Break out the avi gear and snowshoes get ready to enjoy POW and remember POWer is your friend in POWder.
Peace

It's a POWder Day

Good Morning it's 26 degrees and in the past 22 hours we have received 24" of wonderful, white POW. I walked into waist deep powder this morning just to see how it was in areas not groomed here and it's deep and wonderful. If you are a sledhead or skier/snowboarder grab the fat ones and get out and enjoy the best snow we have had here all winter. We have a 3.75' base and 6.5' on our gauge for the first time all winter which isn't compacted yet. There were lots of sledder's out yesterday while it was puking snow over 2"+ most of the day so the road was used and packed by sleds but not formally groomed since last Fri night. This is what we have been looking for to salvage the rest of winter and after a very light Jan/Feb snow we have received over 3' of snow in the last 16 days. Don't put those sleds or skis up just yet. For those performance sledder's no ice scratchers needed now, just remember Power is your friend in deep POWder. Get out and enjoy this new snow and the mountains, it does a body and sprit good.

6" of POW

Good Morning it's snowing already 6" since yesterday and really coming down now, the road out is in great shape out here but very little close to Fiah Lake just skiff I've been told. Thia combined with almsost 2" yesterday we have almost 8" some wet underneath but nice POW on top. This mornings snow is a litte sticky but great for whatever you want to do. Get out and enjoy the mountains and the snow. Peace

1/2" of New Snow

Good Morning it's 29 degrees and after some very cold temps this week it seems we are now warming up a bit but there is moisture in the air. It started ssnowing overnight and is continuing to snow this morning, the snow is in good shape and the road to Trinity was just groomed the other night is smooth and fast without being as icy as it has been the past few weeks. Overcast skies should be with us all day but the snow is great for getting out and playing and enjoying the mountains. Get out and enjoy the beauty and enjoy it. Peace

Extremely Cold Night

Good Morning no new snow to report but cler and Coooold temps 1.5 this morning, bright sunny day and the POW is great and the road was groomed again Monday night slick and fast and the snow is in great shape to get out and play but if not careful can get stuck. Get out and enjoy the mountains, sun & snow it makes life great. Peace

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Another beautiful day

Good Morning, it's 8.8 degrees at 7am, we have 2-3" of windblown POW depending on where you go, road was groomed Sat night and yet with the new snow it's not as icy as has been lately. The new snow and older snow is bonding nicely so no slide problems so far. We've gotten almost 2' of total new snow in last 2 weeks even though we haven't gotten the really big dumps other places have experienced lately, what we have gotten is very nice. Supposed to be sunny the rest of the week wo will have to see what that does to the snow. With daylight savings now mornings start a little early but evenings now last longer and you can ride or ski until after 7pm. Get out and enjoy the beautiful mountains and snow, it'll do you good. Peace

4-6" of POW and Blizzard whiteout conditons

This morning it was 10 degrees and we had between 4-6" of beautiful POW since yesterday morning around 10am when the snow started lightly falling. By 12:30 the snow was blowing so hard you could not see 5' in front of you so hard I had 3" of blown snow on my covered porch by 4pm. It started clearing somewhat around 3:30 but only for 1.5 hours long enough to make 3 ski-tow runs and downhill runs from settling tank. It picked up again just as Ivan started his last downhill run, so hard I could not clear my goggles fast enough. There is anywhere from 8-18" of POW depending on where you are here, the new snow is bonding very well to the older snow reducing chances of slides with the new snow. This morning we got another .5" in just over 1 hour while Ivan was skiing a new run, great condition for skiing or sledding, the road was groomed last night so should be very fast with little traffic all day. Get out and enjoy the mountains and this beautiful fresh POW. Peace

No Snow but plenty of Sunshine

Good morning it was 9 degrees this morning for the low and no new snow after yesterday afternoon. Today lots of sunshine and 16 degrees at 9am. With the lack of moisture in the snow yesterday there was some hoar frost but still soft and POW. The road to wasn't groomed last night but it is still in good shape after being groomed last Thur, so if you have been looking for a POW to go ride in this is it, no ice scratchers needed. A great day to enjoy the mountains and the snow, get out and enjoy it. Peace

Thursday, March 05, 2009

6.25" of POW over night

Good Morning it is 29 degrees and we had 6.25" of POWder overnight which is almost 10" this week alone, the most new snow we have had in almost 1,5 months, it started out fairly wet but got cold enough to dry it out a little. Perfect for snowmobiling or getting in some backcountry skiing in places no one else goes. Not sure if they groomed last night or not but either way the road is in good shape from being groomed almost every week, just won't be so hard with the new snow on top of it. Grab your skis, fire up the sled and get out and enjoy this beautiful snow and the mountains I call home. Peace

I See Big Snowflakes Falling

Good Morning it's 32 degrees and overcast, no new snow overnight but at 7:55am the sky opened up and looked like rain but quickly turned to Big snowflakes and they are wet and moderately heavy to heavy. This is just what we need to help the poor snowpack out. We have just over 4' at the house gauge but yesterday we built a snow course and the avg depth of the snow 200 yds away was 55" with 3-4 icy crust below the snow, There is no wind and the snow is falling straight down and getting bigger. Get out and enjoy the beautiful mountains and snow. Peace

Appreciate your help

If you are reading these post about snow & trail conditions @ Trinity I would really appreciate it if you would become followers on Trinity Valley Vibes, that way I will know how many people are taking advantage of the information and that ya'll are interested in this information and the fact that it is linked to www.lakewenatcheeinfo.com snow report page. I want to know if it is worth me keeping this information up. Today we set up a snow course for taking measurements and this summer we will be having the Miner's ridge snow-tel station moved to Trinity for the most accurate and up to date snow conditons available for the Chiwawa River watershed. Thanks get out and enjoy the fresh snow. Peace

Yeah 3.75" of very wet snow

Good Morning it's 32 and has been snowing all night off and on and the temp never got lower than 31. We didn't get but a dusting overnight night before last and then it actually had slight rain & sleet before sunset. We've had almost 7" this weekend, not great but much better than we have been getting the last 6 weeks. It has snowed heavy at times and now is slacking off to very light. This is very wet snow packs easily when walking but should be great for snowmobiling and some skiing just will be a little slower. Road is still in good shape from Thur grooming and not many sledder's out this way this weekend. Get out and enjoy the beautiful white snow. Peace

Got 2" of new snow

Good Morning it's 29 degrees and we received 2" of new snow last night, it's currently overcast and snowing heavy wetter snow which is great, we need it. The snow is still in good shape you can still go anywhere, the trail was groomed Thur night and was very hard and fast the new snow will make riding better and keep snowmibiles cooled down. As always anyone coming out this way Coke and Chocolate ice cream is appreciated. Get out and enjoy the snow. Peace
