Season drawing to a close, Sorta...

We went into town for 3 days on Monday and hoped to get some of the snow Steven's Pass got during that time, maybe 2-3" only though. Coming in yesterday the lower portion of the road here was rough due to lots of traffic while snow as very weeet, not bad but used none the less, from Basalt on to Trinity it was smooth as glass with just about 1" of new snow on top. We made the first tracks on it and it was very nice to come home like that. The grooming for the year is over I've been told, so now snow is melting at Fish Lk sno-park but not bad yet, it is good from there just rough to Chikamin Flats stay out of others tracks and it is nice though. Get out and enjoy it while you can it's getting warmer during the day but overall the snow is still on great shape. Get on those sleds and ride or pack your skis and come enjoy the beautiful virgin ski runs we know of, it'll so your body & spirit good. Peace

Another Beautiful Day in Paradise

Woke up this morning to another chilly 11 degee morning but the sun is out the road here is groomed to Chikamin and very fast, the snow is hard packed and many places are accessable that normally aren't at this time of year. Get out and enjoy these conditions but you will need ice scratchers for some sleds. Peace

For all of those mushers training for the Cascade Quest Sled Dog race, the road conditions to Trinity are very nice very hard, fast and groomed to Chikamin, the rest of the way was groomed last week but the freezing thawing cycle has set it up nicely, icy in places. Don't waste it use it.

What the Snow Conditions are Currently

No new snow at Trinity since last Friday and that snow was very wet and heavy. We are compacted to just over 4' right now but should make a nice base. Road not groomed since Dec 30, possible slides and downed trees since no sledders have been here since last Tues. This will be updated daily for those wanting to ride out here but prefer a groomed trail than breaking trail especially since this macro-climate is so different from what it is like at Fish Lake.
